The only ski school of its kind, the North American Ski Training Center (NASTC) is a total immersion, multi-day, all-inclusive, performance ski school for intermediate to expert skiers based at Lake Tahoe. NASTC’s trainers are all Examiners/Clinicians and/or on the National or Regional Demonstration Teams for the Professional Ski Instructors Association (PSIA). Their backcountry guides are fully certified with the AMGA. NASTC offers all-conditions/all terrain adventure skiing, snowcat skiing, helicopter skiing, avalanche courses, women’s clinics, kids’ camps, instructor certification, backcountry skills, dry land training and even summer rock climbing. NASTC is dedicated to providing upper level skiers with the best instruction and courses available at the world’s best mountains. NASTC runs more than 25 ski courses at 18 resorts worldwide. Courses are available 10 months per year, ranging in duration from one to 12 days, and in price from $298-$4480.

Luna Chix of NASTC presents a three-day course designed to maximize your improvement through great coaching, equipment analysis and customized Functional Movement Screening. This NASTC course, taught by the Luna Chix Team who specializes in working with women in the outdoors, is designed to take you to the next level. Started by LUNA, the makers of the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, the LUNA Chix are teams of women that invite you to join them in the sports of mountain biking, road cycling, triathlon, running and now skiing! They bring awareness and raise money for the Breast Cancer Fund, whose mission is to identify environmental causes of the disease.

This is a step-by-step progression designed to get you off that intermediate or advanced plateau and skiing the entire mountain well, whatever the conditions: steeps, powder, bumps, crud, trees or chutes. TAHOE, CALIFORNIA - Backcountry Skiing Adventure
February 6-8, 2008
If you are able to ski off-piste and want to get away from the crowds and lift lines, then you should experience skiing in the backcountry. Since there is no ski patrol in the backcountry, you need to learn some basics about skiing safely and how to use the proper equipment needed. Learn how to earn your turns! You will improve your technique AND enjoy an adventure in the backcountry with staff from both NASTC and Shasta Mountain Guides. Start inbounds at Sugar Bowl and work on your turns and then go over avalanche skills and backcountry skiing techniques. For all backcountry levels, intermediate and up skiers.

This intensive seminar is designed to give you an understanding of avalanche formation, "nature's billboard" observation skills, avalanche transceivers, digg a snow study pit and probing. In this seminar, you will learn about the affects of terrain, weather, snowpack and the human factor in avalanche terrain.

TAHOE, CALIFORNIA – Avalanche Training Course Level 2

This is an intensive four-day course which goes into goes into more detail about snowpack and factors of avalanches. Get more hands on by digging snow study pits and interpreting the snow layers and become more familiar with the different kind of snow crystals and how they affect the snowpack. In this course, you will be involved with multiple barrier scenarios and procedures. Prerequisite: level 1
