We love Aspen/Snowmass dearly. Heck, nearly all of us at Ski.com call this beautiful valley our home. While we could wax poetic about all the wonderful things Aspen/Snowmass offers and the amazing snowfall we’ve experienced during the 2013/2014 ski season, sometimes it’s better to let the place speak for itself. Scroll down to see the story of this season in photos.
Aspen/Snowmass photos from the 2013/2014 ski season, so far
Oct. 7, 2013 – One of the most colorful Aspen/Snowmass photos we’ve seen, this scene of the Maroon Bells and Pyramid Peak dusted with new snow and the surrounding foothills spattered with fall colors is majestic… to say the least.

Oct. 30, 2013 – We had a special delivery of early-season snow this year with tons of snowfall in October. This photo was taken from Red Mountain in Aspen and town and Aspen Mountain blanketed in snow on the eve of Halloween, nearly a month before the mountain’s scheduled opening.

Nov. 18, 2013 – Thanks to all the early-season snow, Aspen Mountain and Snowmass opened more than two weeks early! The Silver Queen Gondola started spinning on Nov. 16, and conditions were all-time. We couldn’t pick just one photo from this amazing weekend, and we’re proud to have a Ski.com skier represented in this photo set from Aspen Mountain – yeah, Leah!

Dec. 4, 2013 – And the snow kept falling! Storms stacked up in November, and we started December with mid-winter conditions. Aspen locals and visitors were overjoyed by the plethora of powder, including one of our most famous residents, Rudy Doodle. Here he is getting his first faceshots in town. Meanwhile, skiers were getting their own on the mountain.

Jan. 13, 2014 – Wintersköl, Aspen’s annual toast to snow, dates back to a quiet January in 1951 when idle locals decided to celebrate Aspen’s unique lifestyle with a weekend of festivities. Nowadays, the festival includes a snow sculpture contest, a canine fashion show, a soup cook-off and al fresco tasting, and a torchlight descent and fireworks over downtown Aspen. This year, the Norse god of snow –Ullr – blessed the fest with a few powder days as well.
