Steamboat Springs Transit (SST) offers free bus service throughout the city and from the downtown area to Steamboat Ski Resort. The closest bus stop is in front of Wild Plum which is one block away. The service runs every 20 minutes from 7 AM to 7 PM. Alternatively, GO Alpine is the only taxi operator available in Steamboat Springs. Taxis can be hailed 24 hours a day, but you must call in advance to get a ride.
