As case counts decline and vaccination rates rise across the state of Colorado, local public health officials remain dedicated to getting shots into the arms of hesitant residents.

This weekend, Summit County Public Health is taking that dedication to a new level as they plan to turn Arapahoe Basin’s iconic parking lot tailgate scene (otherwise known as “The Beach”) into a ski-through vaccine clinic. According to Al’s Blog, 200 free Johnson & Johnson vaccines will be administered starting Sunday from 12-4pm on a first-come-first-serve basis.
But what’s more, every vaccine recipient will receive a “free Bacon Bloody Mary, Draft Beer or soda from the 6th Alley Bar and Grill.” Talk about a great aprés-based incentive to get inoculated.

Summit County’s vaccination rate remains approximately 65% at the time of this writing. Moving to a 70% vaccination rate would likely mean a further easing of local COVID-related restrictions.
