Committing yourself to the ski bum life sounds a lot more simple than it is in reality. True ski bums must sacrifice a large part of their traditional lives for the sake of skiing and the mountains. That means no time for a wife, kids, a serious career, and the not-happening list goes on and on. But what is lost is gained in the form of personal independence, an intimate connection with nature, and in the case of Tony Stadler and Dean Deaces, a lifelong friendship.
