How to get to Whiteface Mountain Resort

Getting to Lake Placid is a cinch, as it’s only a five-hour drive from NYC and Boston, and even closer from places like Albany, Montreal and Ottawa, it’s super accessible. 

Fly into Albany, Burlington, or Montreal, and you’re just two hours away by car. Amtrak and Adirondack Trailways also offer convenient rail and bus services.

Getting around

Exploring Lake Placid becomes effortless thanks to the complimentary shuttle service that connects you to the town and its surrounding attractions. For those who prefer driving, ample parking options are available. Car rentals and taxis are convenient for exploring further afield. Everything you need for a smooth, stress-free adventure!

On the gentler side of Whiteface Resort, you’ll find the Kids Kampus, a sanctuary for kids offering a mini mountain complete with its own lifts, rental shop, lodge and family Snowsports School. For the intermediates, Whiteface offers Lookout Mountain with a two and half-mile blue cruiser named The Wilmington Trail. Don’t be fooled, though. With 44 percent of Whiteface skiing designated as “advanced to expert,” and seriously long runs, you can bet that Lake Placid skiing offers plenty of terrain perfect for thrill-seekers.
