How to get to RED Mountain Resort

Since RED Mountain is just over the US border, flying to Spokane International Airport (GEG) in Washington is the quickest route. From there, you can rent a car or book a shuttle for the 2.5-hour scenic drive north along Tom Foley Memorial Highway to RED Mountain. Don’t forget your passport for the 24-hour border crossing at the Port of Entry Frontier in Oroville, Washington.

Getting around

With the newly improved free shuttle system, getting around RED Mountain is simple. The Red to Rossland ski bus runs seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., making it easy for guests to explore the charming town and enjoy the vast resort. Rossland is small and walkable, with most shops, restaurants, and amenities easily accessible. Skiing in RED Mountain Resort

Skiing and riding at RED Mountain Resort is a thrilling experience that showcases the best of British Columbia’s diverse terrain. With 2,850 skiable acres spread across four mountains—Red, Granite, Grey, and Mount Kirkup—the resort offers something for everyone. This variety allows groups with differing skill levels to ski together, sharing the same chairlift while choosing their own paths down the slopes. RED also enhances your mountain experience through its free Snow Hosts program, where locals guide you to hidden gems, powder stashes and the best lunch spots. With stunning 360-degree views from the summit and a range of ski schools catering to all ages and abilities, RED Mountain is the perfect destination for both seasoned pros and newcomers eager to embrace the alpine adventure.

Beginner Skiing in RED Mountain:

Beginner skiing at RED Mountain is accessible, enjoyable and welcoming, offering a spectacular environment for those new to the sport. With a laid-back atmosphere and low crowds, 17% of the mountain terrain is specifically reserved for beginners. The green runs feature wide, gentle and uncrowded slopes, creating the perfect setting for learning and progression.

The Fall Line Ski School is thoughtfully designed for skiers and riders of all ages, offering a range of options from private lessons to small group classes. Their Discover Program introduces newcomers to skiing, while the Next Step program helps beginners develop new skills and explore more of the mountain. What sets RED Mountain apart is that beginner terrain is spread evenly across the resort, allowing novices to explore various areas of the mountain without feeling confined. Unlike many resorts, beginner runs aren’t limited to the base, so newcomers can enjoy breathtaking summit views while building their skills.

Family vacations in RED Mountain Resort

Family adventures meet snowy fun at RED Mountain, a winter wonderland that’s as welcoming to little shredders as it is to seasoned skiers. With ski school options for the whole family, including Kindercare for the smallest members, everyone can enjoy the mountain to the fullest.

The fun doesn’t stop once you’re off the slopes. Just a short drive away, the historic gold rush town of Rossland offers unique shops, cozy cafes, lively bars, and charming restaurants that transport you back in time. History buffs can dive into the rich local heritage at the Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre, where you’ll learn about the Scandinavian visionary who created the resort.

Après-ski enthusiasts will love the Rossland Beer Company, a favorite among locals. For those who need a break from the slopes, the area offers plenty of other activities, including bowling, ice skating, local hockey games (when in Canada, eh?), renowned Nordic skiing, or catching a movie at a local theater. But beware - stay long enough, and your family might want to stay forever!
