About Champoluc

Nestled in Italy's picturesque Aosta Valley, Champoluc is the largest resort in the Monterosa ski region, often referred to as Italy’s "Three Valleys." Champoluc is the largest resort in the Monterosa ski region. Monterosa is a huge ski area, comprised of 112 miles of trails and known as Italy’s “Three Valleys.” Surrounded by wooded terrain and based at one end of the Monterosa ski area with Gressoney in the central valley and Alagna on the far side, Champoluc boasts spectacular views of the region’s dramatic glaciers and peaks. It’s even possible to see the Matterhorn from Champoluc on a clear day.

The village's history dates back to the Walser migrations in the 12th and 13th centuries, and traces of this rich cultural heritage can still be seen today. Champoluc exudes a classic ski resort ambiance, with a delightful mix of hotels, holiday villas, shops, and restaurants strung along a scenic mountain road. The local shops, ice rink, and delicious traditional Italian cuisine add to its charm, making it a wonderful place to explore both on and off the slopes.

With more hotels than other resorts in the area, Champoluc is the largest base in the three valleys and offers plenty of off-mountain pursuits including ice skating, ice climbing, snowshoeing and classic Italian après-ski and dining, as well as souvenir and specialty goods shopping. For those seeking a relaxed après-ski scene, Champoluc offers a subdued but enjoyable experience, with cozy spots near the main gondola station offering cocktails and live music. Despite its tranquil vibe, the village offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for families and adventure seekers alike. With easy access from Turin, Milan, and Geneva airports, Champoluc is an accessible and captivating destination for a memorable ski or summer holiday.
