The resort is split into two main areas: Asari and Nagamine, offering a variety of trails from gentle beginner runs to more challenging intermediate and advanced terrain. Beginners will love the wide-open, gentle slopes near the base, while advanced skiers can take advantage of the powder-filled backcountry and tree skiing opportunities.

Additionally, Kiroro is a mere 60-minute ride from Niseko, making it easy to experience more than one Japanese ski resort during your travels. Kiroro itself provides plenty of off-mountain adventures and activities, including open-air onsens (hot springs), snowshoe tours, sledding and snow tubing. Located just 27 miles from Sapporo, Kiroro is one of Hokkaido’s most convenient resorts. It’s easy to arrange for a shuttle or hop on a bus from Sapporo airport. How to get to Kiroro Ski Resort

Getting to Kiroro Ski Resort is easy by flying into New Chitose Airport (CTS), located about 60 miles away. You can expect a 90-minute drive from the airport to Kiroro, depending on traffic. Car rentals and bus transfers are available. For easy transport, the "Hokkaido Resort Liner" shuttle bus offers direct services to the resort, with prices starting at around ¥4,500 JPY ($32 USD) per person.

Everything you need is right at your fingertips within the Kiroro Resort complex—bars, restaurants, souvenirs, snacks, and plenty of entertainment. A convenient shuttle runs between the Sheraton Hotel and the Kiroro Tribute every 10 to 30 minutes from 6:40 a.m. to 11:40 p.m. If you're up for a little adventure, hop on the complimentary shuttle to Otaru, just a 40-minute ride away. Explore this charming town, known for its rich history, glass products and nearby ATM facilities.

While a third of the slopes are rated black, most of the on-piste terrain is mellow, making it accessible for those still building confidence. There are 23 runs spread evenly between green, blue, and black slopes, making it an ideal playground for beginners and intermediates. For those seeking a bit more challenge, the mogul courses will test your skills—and you might catch locals showing off their technique!

The real thrill-seekers will find the best powder hidden in Kiroro's trees, offering a more off-piste experience, while cruisers will love the smooth, flowing Grand Line. Beginners dipping their toes into powder will appreciate the ungroomed runs scattered around the resort. Or, are you planning to venture into the sidecountry? Make sure to submit a backcountry plan for permission before heading out into the untouched snow.
