About Arosa Lenzerheide

A family friendly area that features loads of skiing, sunshine, and off-mountain activities, Arosa is a great getaway for those looking for peace and quiet in a rejuvenating atmosphere. Arosa, tucked away in Switzerland's Plessur Region, is the perfect blend of alpine tradition and modern skiing. This charming resort, connected to Lenzerheide by a cable car since 2013, gives you access to over 140 miles of incredible terrain, making it one of the largest linked ski areas in the country. Sitting at 5,900 feet, Arosa is famous for its reliable snow and over 37 miles of well-groomed slopes.

With roots as a health retreat in the late 1800s, Arosa has transformed into a go-to winter sports destination by the 1930s. The iconic Weisshorn cable car, which first opened in 1956, still whisks skiers up to some of the most stunning runs in the area. Fun fact: even Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes, once wrote about his epic ski adventure here, putting Arosa on the map for British skiers.

Today, Arosa combines serene alpine beauty with top-notch facilities, including a car-free village center for that peaceful, authentic mountain vibe. Beyond skiing, you can dive into a variety of winter activities and explore the picturesque surroundings, including nearby lakes and scenic hiking trails. The Lenzerheide Ski Resort is top-notch featuring modern lifts, lodges, restaurants and amenities in addition to the classic alpine aesthetic that pervades the Swiss Alps.
